Set Back Handled Bamboo bow
Earl:
This bow is 58" long and 47#@24". This bow was pretty hard to tiller because bamboo randomly changes shape.

Pat B:
Beautiful bow and well tillered. With 8 nodes on a 58" bow, I have no doubt it was difficult to tiller. You did an excellent job with it. Is it bamboo on the back and belly?...and if not, what is the belly wood?
On the boo backed bow I'm trying to resurrect, there are only 5 nodes in the entire bow and only 1 in the working part of each limb...and I still screwed it up! ::) Pat
white wood:
nice bamboo bow! the tiller looks great to me. is that heat tempered? looks like its been scorched. is it solid bamboo or laminations of boo? -jesse
Earl:
Jesse, yes it was heat tempered. I lightly did it on the back and heavily heat treated it on the belly, since bamboo takes alot of set.
Pat, Both back and belly are bamboo.
Pat B:
Earl, Any core wood or is it boo on boo only? If only boo on boo, you got good weight from it. Pat
