Go to you tube and type in,  "I make round stick with sawblade"  It will show you a couple of the jigs.

That's dude making a dowel with a vise, drill, chunk of wood and a sawblade.

He goes on to do the same thing with a pair of files, a band saw, a hand plane, and some other approaches.

I browsed through some of his other videos, this guy's got some nice techniques and jigs.
