New Toy
« on: August 02, 2010, 07:27:15 pm »
I've been wanting one of these for awhile and the stars lined up over the weekend where I was able to finally get one. It is a DPMS Panther A5, .223. Now I have to just get to the range Saturday morning before it is too hot.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

It ought to kill a pig well enough, though probably not as well as a jeep will.  ;)

Sight in is at 25meters, 2 cm's low. Then it is dead on at 250 meters. Not much drop. ;D I got rid of a .308 and have the Ruger rolling Block with a Bull barrel in .300 Win. Mag for that good, Reach out and touch something feeling. ;)

That right there is shore nuff a man toy.
Sonny, you'd be surprised at just how accurate one of those things can be. Sub 1" groups at 100 yards are common. ;)
Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.

I'm with Josh, where's the full draw :D
Nice weapon Eddie.  I'm hoping to get one with this next years tax return.  For 4 years I've bought a firearm with my returns and this last year was going to be an AR.....but this year I had other priorities...

Where is the ramrod?  What size flints does it take?  Are you going with 2F or 3F powder?

 >:D
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

Tim, I looked at a FN in .308, but it was heavy and I just traded a .308 to DavidK. Didn't want another one. I already have a 30-06 and 300 WinMag.

Ken, my son said the same thing when he was  home over the weekend, said he never held a shiny one without scratches. ;D

JW, I have 8 with the rock and ram-roddy thing, I wanted to play with something different. ;)

Pappy I thought I remembered you having one and I see all kinds of possibilities with turkeys and other things. :)
