Cool Tbod.. Should be just fine if not better. If I were repairing a chrysal that was in the mid-limb area,  I would dish out the bad area and plug it with a sound piece of wood.   :)  Post pics of it when you get it finished, I wanna see what it looks like.  Good luck on yours!  :)

Alright pic coming tomorrow.

Was thinking a little.. The problem with your patch IMO is it might crack horizontally at the bottom of the first crack.

Se the pic I drew a theoretical first crack black and the other that might occur with red.

I'm just thinking outloud in theory..overthinking..

It's not going anywhere, trust me.  The patch is thick so that area doesn't bend so there's no chance of it moving or splitting longitudinally like you drew.   And besides, have you ever tried to split a piece of Hophornbeam?  this stuff doesn't want to separate even when you try to force it with a wedge...  If I were to continue bending the bow towards the back without the patch I think that could happen but bending it towards the belly as in bracing/drawing the bow i don't think it will..the back of the bow would have to do some serious stretching... I'm sorry but your theory doesn't hold much water with me.

Eeeeeew....I say as long as the Tip stays Static...It may have a good Chance of Surviving....if it Flexes at all....I say it's going to fail....like a built up Riser that Flexes and pops...JMO....good luck and keep Us posted
