Ok you rock-knockers, I'm exposing my ignorance and asking about this "coral" you keep knapping.  Is this actual coral taken off a reef at sea, or is it coral from old seas that have left the reef structure high and dry that has further compressed/modified geologically?

I gotta second Josh's comment, the photo is as artistic as the work.   Fine stuff, sir.

JW, it'a "agatized" coral.  It's coral that has been dead for a loooooong time and whatever organic material was in it to begin with has since been replaced by silica.....I think :-\
BTW, I hate ugly, half arsed, blurry pictures. I think if anything is worth taking a picture of, it's worth a littl extra time to do it as well as you can!

Shannon,
Are you using the macro setting on your camera (the flower setting)?  Nice points and pictures!

wow shannon beautiful point. Nice job.

I really like the lighting and how you setup the first pic against a black background. And it is cool cause you can kinda see your fingers but they dont detract from the point.  VERy nicely done...very artistic how did you accomplish that?

looks good Shannon. And yes, we too need to know how to take good crisp pics like that. Mason was trying to take some last night and we just could not get the focus right ?

That is some sick work you are producing Shannon.  Pretty work, serrations or not.
