what kind of wood do you think this is?

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the dowels at Atwoods are Ramin.

Whatever they are, they do make good arrows.

thats what it said, ramin, but they did have the light colored shafts as well.  maybe this is the heartwood? if it has it?  its pretty dense though.  i made up two arrows for my bow.   spined two about 45lbs, 30 inches long, 4 4inch fletchs.  one weighed 360 grains the other weighed 480!  i can definitely feel the difference between the two
