I started hunting with my wood bows 2 years ago, and have shot 2 deer with my BBI thus far. I promise you that those 2 hunts were the most rewarding of my deer hunting career, and I am forever hooked. However, if the weather is really crappy, I will still occasionally hunt with my compound bow

. I almost always hunt with my BBI, but when the weather is colder than a witch's titty, I feel kinda funny with bamboo and tropical hardwood in my hand. This year I'm gonna try to give one of my ash bows some hunting love, and on the very coldest of days, I'm going with hickory backed hickory. If it is pouring down rain, I may still let my compound get some fresh air.(got too much money in that sucker to just sit there) The wood bows could certainly take the wet weather, but I like to baby them a little(too many hours of hard work in them). Truth is that I enjoy the challenge of hunting with my handmade wooden bows the best, but I still appreciate other forms of archery. Even though I love wood bows, I'm trying hard not to be a "fiberglass snob". :)To each his own, but I believe there is room in archery for all of us. I plan to continue enjoying all forms of it.
