My first Reflex-Deflex Bow
« on: August 31, 2010, 04:48:28 AM »
This is the first Reflex-Deflex English Longbow that I have made.  It is 66 inches nock to nock and 40-lb at 27 inch draw.

It is Lemonwood belly, Bamboo back and Pau Amorello core.  The arrow plate is mother of pearl and the horn nocks are water buffalo.

The tillering was a challenge as English target rules say the bow at full draw must be a simple curve from handle to tip.  It shoots well and is probably as quick as my standard 45-lb English longbow.

Great bow. I have never seen an ELB with reflex/deflex, but why not?  Great idea, excellent craftsmanship.

[I'm very disappointed with the pictures.  I've never posted anything before and could only transmit by condensing the photos.  Need to find out how to overcome them coming out so small.  As you can tell I'm not a computer whizz./quote]

I am very disappointed with the pictures.  I've never posted anything before and could only send the photos by condensing them for email.  Other entries I've looked at have absolutely super photos.  I need to find out how to remedy this.  You can tell I'm no great shakes on the computer as I even posted this message in the wrong place first time.  Obviously I'm on  a steep learning curve.

No worries, we all were there.  Some use Photobucket to put their pictures into and upload.
I find it easier to use the Microsoft Paint application.  I right click on the photo in my computer then open with the paint application.  Then I "stretch" the pictures down to a smaller size and save them for the website.

Hope this helps, and welcome.  Oh yeah - that looks like a fine bow, great job!

Thank you for your response.  I'm really sorry that the photos are so small.  You will see from my previous comment that I didn't really know how to size them.  I compressed them for e-mail and I should have compressed them for publication.  I've also just experimented as per the previous response.

Here are some photos which I hope do not need a microscope.  Just an experiment really to see how they transmit
