Barrage:
Some of the flight guys use a release for the complex primitive class.  This is a picture that Avcase posted at PP in the flight shooting forum.  Hope you don't mind me posting your pic Alan.  There is also a few more pictures in his post with the sequence on how to use one of his back tension releases.

mullet:
You can do like James Parker and shoot Thumb Ring release bare fingered. Aero, also untill James showed me where to position the string I couldn't use one worth a hoot.

Pat B:
If the thumb ring doesn't fit right don't use it. It should be oval so you can slip it on your thumb twist it 1/4 turn and it locks in place and won't slip off. If it does slip off it can take some of your thumb with it.  :o
I've shot a thumb ring a few times but it is way different than the standard Mediterranean 3 finger draw. With the arrow on the right side of the bow the arrow goes more to the right so if you aim as normal your arrow will hit way off to the right. For me it was about 3' to 4' off.  ;D
For those who know Colene from the archery shoots, she uses a release device I've never seen before and it seemed to work great. I don't remember the details of it though.
