My first bow - Rawhide backed Maple

Hey guys.  I've been lurking on here for a couple months and finally have something worth posting.  Here's a few pictures (hopefully, if they attach) of a bow I made at a seminar at Lee Valley.  It was instructed by Adam Beck and Mark James.  Both of these guys really know their stuff, and their knowledge really helped make my first bow a success.  Thanks so much, you guys rock!!

It's a 68" rawhide backed maple board bow, with osage in the handle and tips.  She pulls 53# @ 27".  I also had enough time after finishing the bow to whip up a dozen arrows.  Adam showed me how to install the knocks, points, and the fletching.

This is the first "traditional" bow that I've ever made (or shot for that matter), but I have a feeling that my compound bow is going to be going up for sale...

Very nice bow, tiller looks killer also. Dont even have to ask about the speed.....hard maple is some quick stuff for sure, and welcome to the addiction.....

PS: ya allready got the next one spinnin around in yer head, dont ya?

Thanks guys.  Half eye - Adam had a nice bamboo-backed osage reflex/deflex blank that I was eyeing up... don't know if I'm ready to tackle that tiller yet though.  I love the maple, I'll probably build another lighter one for putzing around with.  But ya, I think I'm hooked!!

Here's another full-draw picture, along with a bracer that I made, and a few pictures from the seminar, if anyone's interested.  That's Mark at the tiller tree, while Neil was flexing his bow.

 Congratulations on your first bow and arrows look great, too. Was Adam playing a joke on you and said you had to shoot off the other side of the bow since it wasn't a compound?

Thanks guys.  That means a lot coming from you Jawge.  Your website has a lot of good info on it.

Mullet - that's just how I roll I guess. Gotta be different than everyone else.  Gonna make it a bit harder to sell my compound though, being left handed.
