New osage bow
« on: January 27, 2011, 09:08:33 pm »
Worked off an on for about 3 months getting this knotty joker to bend.  I'm going to officially attempt to get the common name of osage orange changed to Yellow Colored Devil Wood!

Here she is none the less...  65" NTN, and #50@27".  Sealed with parrafin and sporting a jute cord wrap.

She is not a work of art or very pretty .. but a good all around 'plain-jane' workin' man's bow!

Shoots a ~500 grain douglas fir arrow beautifully and very quietly without any silencing paraphernalia on the string.

Very Nice Bow Sandy!!!!  Tiller and finish work all look top notch.  I have been using a Jute wrap on a few of my bows and I really like the way it feels in hand.  Got it bookmarked for the January BOM Contest too!    ;)

Nothin plain Jane about that bow, Great profile, excellent tiller and beautiful line. Good job on a tough piece of wood.
