Dana's bow for Jesse.
« on: March 28, 2011, 09:46:03 am »
Dana sent me an email and wanted me to post this for him,He made this special bow for Jesse
one of his best friends fro the far North. Maybe Jesse will chime in with the spects on it.It is Elm and a beautiful bow for sure.
This is what Dana had to say about it. :)  Pappy
Jesse sent me a elm stave this winter that he had roughed out and  floor tillered. I decided to finish it up and give it back to him.

Here’s the results elm, 64” NTN, 52#@28”(it actually pulls 55#), rat snake skins, blue tongued skink handle wrap, beaver tail strike plate, mescal bean tip overlays.

Has a bit of reflex when unstrung, I can only pull it about 25” but it seems to shoot nicely. Can’t wait to get it to Jesse.

Dana made a great looking bow. Those bean tips have some nice contrasting colors. Pappy, I think Dana and his wife will be at the Classic.

Mullet, as of last week, he told me he would not be making the classic this year.  Hopefully he has changed his mind.

Great tiller.  The full draw pics are sweet.  Little to no set.  The craftsmanship is excellent and inspiring. You're just on another level.  VERY NICE BOW dude!
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

I talked to Mark ( aka VB) and he said Dana was not goin to the TN Classic also.  Made me sad to be sure.  He does make a sweet bow.  His knives are also top of the line.  I know cause we did a swap and I have one of them now.  :)

Nice bow Dana!

I am a pretty lucky guy to get a personalized bow like this. I think it's just awesome and I have not seen it in person yet. I sent Dana a roughed out elm stave for Christmas and he turns it right back at me 10 fold. Mescal been root overlays? blue tongue skink? One of a kind for sure.  I have been having a rough patch in life lately and Dana has been a great friend. Thanks so much Dana. Cant wait to take a deer with it this fall.
