Young Bowyer, just build you one out of osage. I've been using the same 60# flatbow for 10 or more years. I would'nt use anything but a selfbow to hunt fish. JMHO ,God Bless
Gus:
Ah... my fishing bow is an old reliable Bear takedown recurve with white glass limbs... She only pulls 35# but she's whacked and stacked many unhappy fish... >:D

I have a pse kingfisher. It is heavy and not trendy or cool, but it is tough, cheap, accurate, and weatherproof. The package deal includes everything you need to get started bowfishing. I like mine. I do my hunting with a pecan self bow which I built myself. It is about a third the weight of the kingfisher! For a bow to be tossed around in a canoe and subjected to the elements again and again, I think the PSE is sensible choice. The take down design makes it a great spare bow to take along on hunting trips. I did spray paint the bow with some Walmart flat green camo paint to cover up that silly factory camo job.... Added some brush buttons and felt strips to try and quiet it down some.... basically it is still a loud, heavy tank of a bow, but it shoots straight and is very durable. For a hundred bucks you can't go wrong.
