Need small snakeskins--ROUND TWO!!
« on: July 30, 2011, 03:26:32 am »
Ok folks! I got an incredible response on my last thread and its time for round two!
I need snakeskins, they can be small, they are for making pens. I LOVE copperhead, and I know yall have your stashes, and I love to see the oddball snakes you guys come up with. ANY species is fine, I'm just in short supply of copperhead is all. ;D
They need to be thin and flexible, and clean. I can scale them myself. 50ish inches gets you a pen!

IF YOU SEE SOMETHING YOU LIKE AND DON'T HAVE SKINS TO TRADE, PM ME AND WE'LL WORK SOMETHING OUT

small pinecones cast in resin

marble white corian

spalted maple burl one piece cigar pen

genuine silver leaf cast under water clear resin

compressed sunflower seed shells!! (no not "used" lol)

watermelon acrylic CLICK pen

knotty cherry cigar

walnut cigar

AND JUST FOR SHOW!!! this is what I use your skins for

Thanks!

Alex, reserve that circuit board one for me. It's perfect for my son. I'll check and see what I have left.

I looked last time I was at the lease, but didn't find any.  All I have is this miniature snake that got caught in a sticky trap in the garage.  I didn't skin the first one I caught this year which was smaller.  Now I'm kicking myself.

these pens average around $40 (only posted for trade comparison value, let me know if I should remove)

O, I didn't mean to say you should trade one of those beautiful pens for such a little snake.  I was just lamenting I didn't have more little ones, should've done it in a PM.  I have larger skins but it's hard for me to part with them as they're destined for bows.  If you can take some with holes in them we might be able to work something out.  I don't have copperheads though and I know that's what you want.  I will keep my eye open for them out at the lease, but their camo is so good I almost never seem them unless they move.

I have one copper head skin, flexible, but it is only about 30". Starts wide and ends wide. There are a couple of tears at about 23". If you are interested pm me your email. Wife misplaced the camera and I will have to do it from my phone right now.

Woa!  those red tail python skins are killer!  Hmmm.....Where do you get those?

I'd like to make an osage bow backed in Reticulated Python, or Burmese.  But boa could be nice also.
