I am originally from Greenville CA.I have been in Yosemite for 17 years now. I am an Indian Culturla Demonstrator for the National Park Service. Would enjoy having you come on down and talkin to me about makin bows! Ask for a gate pass and I will sign it when you get here. Still need to make a bow in the museum. I have made atlatl darts and throwers and arrows but no bow yet.

Down here the Miwok and Paiute used sinew back bows made from either cedar or juniper. Could use some hands on help iding good staves for a bow. resources managements cut some non-native locust that is reasonably straight so might try that. I got some books and bulletins but I like to have some help on the first one. Come on down - you can get a gate pass and I can sign it and you can camp at my house, oh yeah and see Yosemite!
