Three different critters

I haven't posted in a while but I have been plugging along. Just exploring different styles and designs.
The one on the right is a BBI re/de that is 66". The one in the center is a 64" Black Locust D bow that I got out of a log that has been cut 25 years. I had to go down into the log about six inches to find a sound ring. The one on the left is a 68" Hickory backed Hickory that was glued up Perry style. After a good break in no string follow. All pull a little over 45# and shoot sweetly. Still go to put a wrap on the handles.

real nice on all 3, but i'm partial to the locust bow, just really like the design, full draws coming?, Bub

Very nice Grunt.....on all 3.......I'm real partial to the NA "D" bows, and yours looks real good.

Nice bows!  Can you tell what you painted the black locust D bow with?  It looks really authentic.  Also some full draw pics!

I live up in the NC mountains. Work most every day in my studio by myself. Next visiter will have to learn to run my camera.
I used alcohol based aniline dye for the berry color and a yellow art marker with the black being a Sharpie.
. Pig fat heated in for the finish on the BL D bow. Toasting the belly slightly added four pounds to the draw weight.

Wow, i could look at a lot more pics of each bow.  Glad you found a way to keep some reflex in a hickory bow.  I want to copy every style.  I only have the time to make one bow every couple months.  Really appreciate you guys sharing your work.
