bow scale
« on: August 15, 2007, 11:09:04 am »
I have a Hanson scale.  I swear it must be measuring low.  Is it possible that it just wore itself out?  I have no idea how old it is as I got it 2nd hand.

Scales can wear and some have adjustments for this, they call it calibrating the scale.
The springs in the scale age from stress and there for become weaker.

Why not check it with a known weight.

A gallon of fresh water weighs 8.34 pounds, get a 5 gallon bucket, weigh the bucket empty and the proceed filling the bucket a gallon at a time.

Just a thought..
