Osage HLB
« on: April 14, 2012, 04:51:09 pm »
yes I said HLB (hillbilly long bow) ;D 55 inches ntn. 55lbs@28". It never ceases to amaze me how little Osage it takes to make a bow. I used a "D" cross section on this bow. First time doing that with Osage and I must say that it really works well. This bow is well under an inch wide. I used a penny in the pic for reference.

Tiller is sweet. One of the pics looks like there are dark spots. Did you heat treat it, or those the knots.?

This was a piece that I pulled from the burnpile at OJAM. It was twisted something fierce, hence the dark spots. There were some knots as well. Thanks guys.

Great little bow!  That one would be easy to carry during a long day hunting.
