white oak recurve finished up
« on: May 18, 2012, 06:19:49 pm »
well i got my recurve all done, came in @ 50# @29", pyramid profile with local rattlerskins, i stained it cherry before i put the skins on hopeing to bring out some color, then a dark brown over the rest of the exposed wood, wrapped the grip in some heavy braided upolstery string, i think it feels real nice, put an arrow pass on both sides 'cause i don't think i can keep my son from shooting it, draws smooth and no hand shock at all, hope ya like it, Bub

That's awesome Bubby! I don't understand why some people don't like oak. I really like how those skins turned out also.

Wow, seeing great bows like this really make me want to try my hand at a recurve...should probably finish my first bow before starting a second.  >:D

Very nice bow bubbly! Everything about it just right. Your colors, skins, tiller and the whole nine............except your shooting off the wrong side!

I love the recurve and the skins are a great addition.  I am going to make a couple of more long bows then give the recurve a try.

One word: PERFECT!

Okay, here's a few more. Absolutely beautiful bow in every way, but I keep staring at the tiller and shaking my head at it's perfection. Almost looks like it has been machined in order to get the symmetry exact to the closest micrometer. Crazy good.

That's lovely Bub, beautiful lines on that bow.  That's the nicest brace picture I've seen in a long time.

Great job, Bub. I'll be glad when I get to the point I can start flipping those tips! Not there, yet, tho.
