Rawhide backed Pignut Hickory Recurve
« on: May 28, 2012, 11:18:32 pm »
Well this is my latest bow , It's a 65" rawhide backed hickory recurve. The recurves are pretty short but the string touches the tips at brace. This is the first recurve I've made in a long time.( I usually can't shoot recurves well) The handle is layered hickory and maple .The bow pulls 50#@ 28 .The bow shoots really hard and fast.I stained the bow with dark ebony stain. which turned the rawhide and wood a dark gray color..I named the bow"The Gray Ghost" I'm really happy with the way this bow turned out. I know th tiller looks kinda off but I have a pretty severe cant when I shoot.Hope ya enjoy

;)  Nice bow.  Hickory is great stuff.  That one should last you a life time.  I like that arrow too.  Looks like bow season needs to hurry up and get here.
