black walnut selfbow “Black Death"

I finished this one up last month and wanted to share. Its sapwood black walnut with a zebrawood handle overlay, horn tips, and boa skins over a black dye. 66ntn and 50@28.

Looks great, with that fine tiller I'd say it could deal out the death blow fairly easily. Also like the skins, tips and finish work. It's fun to dye black walnut sapwood, some interesting colors and patterns can happen on that wood.

He only says that because he lives in Europe.  Coincidentally, in the same land as the Black Adder. 

Looking at the tiller and the design, I would have to believe she spits like a cobra.  Nice bow, fine finish work.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.  I liked working with walnut. I've got a few walnut at my place that are gonna have to come down now. This was my first time working walnut and it does dye a bit different than Osage.  I'm going to try some stain on the next one.
