Got this little eight point last evening with the ERC bow.  Should be some fine table fare.

Well, there's not a terribly thrilling story behind it.  Most of the hunting around here is pretty but not remote.  I parked where the guy who lets me hunt has a little cleared area to park for the three or four of us who hunt there.  This particular spot is under 150 meters from the truck (there are a couple that are further.  I got a nice doe out here last year that was a quarter mile or so off, but that's about the furthest his property reaches.)  I sat there for a while, he walked out from the cedars behind me, and I shot him.  The good stories come from the weekend hunts when there is time to really put in some boot work to get to and from the really pretty spots.  ;)

I am really glad to have all the close, accessible "huntlet" opportunities though.  If I had to limit my hunting to just a few cramped weekends each year, I'd die.
