Flo / Haithabu from Germany
Haithabu:
Hey Guys,
I'm Flo from Germany, been reading occasionally for a couple of time and just decided to participate 'proper' and introduce myself shortly.
Made my first bows as a kid with my grandfather, the first real one about three years ago, been into bowmaking constantly since then.
I am studying English and Sports for becoming a teacher, have lots and lots of interests like playing drums, wood turning, sports, cooking (... ) and so on.
The last 4 month, I've been in England , working for a bowyer (had to go abroad due to the studies) and the first thing I did after coming back was driving to Hungary on the weekend, cutting me some nice Osage.
Looking forward to having a good time!
cheers

Hello and welcome to PA. I think you will enjoy it here, good people, with a lot of talent.
And, your English seems very good to me. :)
JW_Halverson:
Welcome to the Forum! We'd all love to see some of your work!
Haithabu:
@mullet: cheers, I do my best :)
And yeah, lots of talented people out here, I already know some from other online boards (e.g. druid) and I have been busy reading, always enjoy it
@JW_Halverson: Will do, will do, here're some pics of an osage bow I build for my boss in England, shoots very fast and is smooth to draw. Pulls 55# @ 28 ", n2n it's 60 " long.
Made it from a leftover piece of a log (they usually do laminates over there) so it still had the bark on and relatively little core left - so in order to achieve a nice draw weight, I scraped 3 layers off and left a little sap on (of course I inspected it for bugs and cracks) but it made a lovely bow! Horn nock overlays, finsihed with 5 layers of raw linseed oil.
Note: Thats not me and its just 26" draw length, but you get the idea :)
cheers
JW_Halverson:
Can't complain about the tiller on that bow. Nice, nice indeed!
