old school Osage
« on: December 23, 2012, 03:59:49 am »
This 1 was from an Osage limb... knocked it out old school, not Stone Age old school, but no power tools old school... did some heat correcting over wood heat, and also heated over a fire to soak in some bear grease for a finish. it is a no frills straight up Arrow slinging deer killing machine >:D
It is 55 inches ntn. 26"@62#.... it also has too many knots to count, along with some dips made it a little fun to tiller... it's a little bit off but I won't tell anybody if you don't ;)  :-X I'm trying to stumble along with the photobucket Android app so please do bare with me as a picture posting will be slow do enjoy... I also know it's not perfect so if you could help me out with any critique it would be appreciated.

FIRE...FIRE...HE HE HE HE HE FIRE!

No critique here - great looking bow !

Love the regular knots zig zagging up the belly, great tiller, nice simple bow.
Whats not to love?

Those knots give a really really nice look to the bow man! I imagine the work to not break the annual ring ...   :o

Sounds like you enjoyed your project to me!
