Im hoping to get mine reflexed and ready to tiller for tomorrow. Wifey is gone allllllll day tomorrow! You know what that means? Im gonna be shooting my trade bow by lunch time. I love this stuff.

Went out this morning to my stash pile that I had set aside 2 years ago, and found a log that was starting to split just perfect for some billets.  I had forgot about this log, and happened to see it yesterday while playing with some other stuff.  So I got my wedge, splitting maul, and axe, and off I went.

Then split the halves into quarters.  Now I have 4 billets to work with for my trade bow....not bad looking either...


Going to chase some rings through this weekend and get this bad bow started.

Wow! Some nice bows being built. I am grateful to be part of the trade.

 SlimBob, you are making me feel bad. I have a piece of hedge I am using as my trade bow that I thought would yield a belly split too. I was going to send it along with the bow, but I chickened out on the split, worried I would end up with no bow.

Don't feel bad yet, I haven't split it.  I have a small band saw, but I use the one at the High School when I need it.  I will probably just split it with a few chisels....carefully.  I've split tougher ones.

The working limbs look good to me now, but for some reason it looks a little off. It might just be the shadows... It's pulled out to the desired draw length in the picture and pulls roughly #112 @ 56" :) And so far NO SET!!!!
