"...and miles to go before I sleep!" ;)  Kind of on hold for a few days until the weekend and plan to work on bows then. I'll string the hhb up for the first time since I heat treated it last weekend, and do whatever adjustments it might need on the tillering tree. Then shaping the handle and start shooting it...I think it will perform good, at least I hope so. In between and mixed in with all that I'll put both osage bows on forms and work on straightening any propellor and adding some reflex, then start stage two of tillering on the tillering board to brace, then to the tree. I'm hoping to be shooting all three within the next couple of weeks, and decide for sure which bow to send south...or was it north, or was it southwest, or northeast...I don't know, I'll figure it out hopefully by the time the bow is finished! :)

Flipped the tips and heat tempered a vine maple stave yesterday, should be shooting this weekend.

I got the 90 degree twist out and some reflex in on the Hickory stick,still not sure that is the one , but at least maybe I will have it for back up !

Finishing up a couple of projects (one of them being the red oak board bow trade) and have been researching my recipient to try to decide what design to make for my recipient.

Well, I think that I've stumbled upon my Trade Bow candidate.  While peeling osage for bow blanks, I happened upon this one.  Under the bark a fireball of beauty emerged.  There were plenty of knots but not in "friendly" places so I cut the stave in half.  The pics don't show well how deep red, this stave is.  I chose the left side of the stave on one half and the right side of the other half then flipped one of them 180 degrees.  Now I can splice them back together.  Yep, a bit of trouble but I didn't want to throw such a colorful osage piece into the wood burner.  We'll see how it progresses....

I found some small issues on my elm so I finished an postage blow that I might make my trade bow. It fits my persons likes more sop than the Osage, but its still early. I will post some pics if it makes the cut. It's the same profile just shorter. And its 52@28 which falls into my persons specs. I still want to finish the elm and see where she comes in at.

Sweet looking Osage. I love coloring in wood grain.
