sorry everyone
« on: February 19, 2013, 05:51:11 am »
ok i have come to realise that my posts and comments have anoyed and upset some people and i am very truly sorry about what i have done, i didn't mean for all this to happen and looking back now i realise that my posts were sligtly exagerated and hard to belive, given that i didn't have proof. so to anyone i have offended or upset in any way let me say i am very sorry and this behaviour will not happen again. i hope you can forgive me and that we can forget all that has been said and that we can start again. Apology accepted.Sounds like a good choice. You need to find yourself a new stave to work on so you have something to shoot with and then find an archery club near you to join. It also sounds like you need to get a journal to put your thoughts into and someday publish ;D

With an attitude like that you will soon be a valued member of the site. Open your mind and your ears and it is amazing how much you can learn from others on here. We are all still learning!  reminds me of when I worked in an auto shop. A 17 year old came into the shop looking for a job. In the interview the boss man asked him what he could do. his response was , "I can do it all".  Which of course everyone knew was silly b\c no one knows how to do it all, especially at 17.  Boss man said, "You can do it all huh?  what have you done so far?"  The kid's response- "I have done the brakes on my truck, fuel filter and pump, water pump and I have rebuilt my truck engine 2 times!."     (2 times at only 17years old means you didn't do a very good job the first time!)   Boss man says- "Well son, there is a difference in doing something and doing something right. I appreciate your enthusiasm so you're hired, be here at 7:00am and we will start teaching you the right way to fix cars."      First morning the Kid shows up to work with one toolbox in his hand. It included a standard size set of sockets, adjustable wrench, claw hammer about 8 screw drivers and a pair of channel locks. Boss man told him to change the oil on an 82 dodge truck. the boy says "I am here to fix and build cars, not do oil changes." Boss man says- "We all start doing oil changes at this shop and work up to larger things with time. You can't do the big jobs until you've proven yourself on the little ones."  The boy says, "I already know how to change oil correctly!"   Boss man says, ".....ok then, I guess since you know how to do it all, I need new fuel injectors, map sensor, O2 sensor and also pull the ECM to reset and run a diagnostic test on it. Should take you about 2 hours, I'll see you here back at 10:30am."  Boss walks out the door, kid's jaw hits the floor.... Kid says... Holy $h!t and had a big slice of humble pie as he slunk back into the office to admit he didn't know how to do all that....  Boss laughed and said, yeah..I thought so... want to do that oil change now???  alright get on back to work....The kid went and did the oil change and about the next 100 oil changes that came through the door.  Even though he thought he knew an awful lot, it didn't take him long to realize he might know his own truck pretty decent, but there is a lot more to the world than what can be found under the hood of his own truck....    That kid was ME.     That was a defining moment in my young life....   alright,  now get back to letting that maple stave cure. In the mean time, go to the hardware store, get a quartersawn oak board & drywall tape.  Learn the basics many times over on cheap oak boards. Then after you have made a few good bows with people's help on here, I bet a couple people will send you a nice hickory bow stave to build a real one.  When you want to be treated like a man, you gotta act like one. A real man asks, listens and says please and thank you. You get only as much respect as you give.   Hope to see nothing but mature posts in the future SS!

Well said Ryan. I accept your apology SS. Just tell the truth and heed the advice of others. Life will be much easier on you if you take the advice of others with more experience not just  pertaining to bowbuilding and such but every aspect of life. Believe it or not we were all your age at one time or another and we all thought we knew it all. Some things in life its ok to learn the hard way but we all figure out at some point that we dont know everything. Another thing you will figure out is that if you continually ignore good advice from others then they will quit giving it to you and then you will have no choice but to learn everything the hard way.

Not accepted. You have willingly lied over and over, and insulted many people who just wanted to help you. I think you will revert to your true nature very soon. Even in your appology, you said you only "slightly exagerated." That tells me a lot about you. It doesn't matter that you are only 15. You should know right from wrong by now, and you take great delight in being disruptive and troublesome.

You'll need to prove yourself bud. People think very poorly of you at this moment, and while an apology is a great first step, you'll need to prove with your actions that you mean it. Good on you for apologizing, but it might be a while before anyone will really take you seriously. But you've started moving in the right direction.

Apology accepted. For now. But keep the stave. Prove yourself through your posts and growth on this forum, and we will all believe you.
