Sinew backed Hickory
« on: October 28, 2007, 02:02:03 pm »
Started this one some time ago.Waited 5 weeks for sinew-using knox gelatine to dry.The stats are 59"ntn 45# @ 27".After shooting quite a bit its taken 5/8 of set.
I picked up a Fedora this summer and liked the thumb rest idea so I used it on this bow.It is a straight shooter and I may take it hunting, the sinew I BELIEVE IS ADDING SOME ZIP.

Nice bow, Ray. I see you added sinew only down the center of each limb. Probably won't notice a lot of difference in the cast although as winter goes on and the air gets drier this bow is gonna increase in draw weight and cast.
Tiller looks good. I'll bet she will spit out an arrow.   Pat

Nice Ray, looks good. I like the thumb rest Idea, seems it would really keep a consitsant hand placement, and and in turn tiller.

Ha Dana ;D ;D, sounds like you could charge admission to your dungeon for Holloween >:D >:D.

Nice bow Ray! I'll get enough sinew this season to try that (hopefully).

Good job on such a short bow. A little scary cranking it back to FD?  We'll look at it soon for Oct Self Bow of the Month voting.
