Lemonwood Take Down Bow
« on: March 23, 2013, 09:46:30 pm »
I know you all must be getting tired of seeing my lemonwood bows so I promise this will be the last for a while. I made this one for a friend who liked both the snakeskin backed osage take down and bamboo backed lemonwood bows that I shoot and wanted a bow that combined the best of both. So I made him a takedown bamboo backed lemonwood bow with rattlesnake handle accents. The bow is 66” ntn and pulls 37# @ 27”. The powerlam and handle overlay are made from Ipe. The tip overlays are elk horn and the handle is dyed elk hide. Both the horn and hide come from an Oregon North Coast elk. The finish is Tru-Oil which has been rubbed to a satin finish using pumice. I think he will like it.

Now I can finally get working on my trade bow…

Great as usual, Gordon! I like the snake skin accents. The whole package is unique and classy.  8) As soon as I get my #$%# takedown sleeves from Kustom King I'll let you show me how it's done...  :-\

I'm not shure anyone could get tired of looking at your bows, nothing is perfect, but your bows are darn close, Bub
