Spliced Yew/Hickory backed bow, quick opinion help...
« on: September 03, 2013, 11:06:22 pm »
What do you think of this?  I think I've looked at it too many times today. I need some fresh eyes and opinions  :P  The bow is 63" long and I am shootin' for a #35-45@26.

The yew billets seemed to be of two different densities which has made this bow a challenge from the get-go.

The upper limb is on the side of the frame with the bbq.

Looks pretty dang good, maybe a tiny bit more bend toward the tips, time for a short string

a little to much bend mid-limb on left limb in pic, it needs to work a tad more towards the tip. Make that your top limb. Get the fade and tip working a bit more on the right limb and a few extra scraps to make it more even to the left. Then your in business.

I'd get the fade in the right limb working more.

Thank you very much for the feedback everyone!  I went ahead and did as you guys said, more bending in fade of the right limb and tips bending slightly more.

I'll post a new pic or vid soon.
