Nice job, Greg! Sharp looking bow, too....
Thanks Chad, it's actually one of Pappy's sister bows...I had forgotten my bow at home when I carried the deer to put in the cooler at the club. The bow I used was made by Mike Concle, and looks a lot like the bow in the picture...snakey and prairie rattler skins.
He got hungry from climbing tree stands and had to eat the hind quarter to get up his strength to get back.
Unfortunately Justin, I'm able to fall back on my emergency fat reserves when I need extra energy.
I didn't find the deer until the next day, and I would expect it to be a opposum ate around one eye and the mouth...left the hindquarters alone thankfully.
Is that gravy on his chin?
The gravy on my chin came later Saturday evening...biscuits, gravy, deer steak, and fried potato's from the backwoods kitchen of Pappy! Yum, yum!
