Seems like I heard a commercial like that. "When the time is right, will you be ready?" Cialis ?  >:D

sonny:
uneventful....
I saw one deer as I drove into the field this morning. She was standing where I typically park my truck  :-\

Temps are supposed to be in the low 90s today so I decided to hunt this morning for a couple of hours
and then head home. Next week should be back to normal, with highs in the 70s.

Tonight was my opening day despite the official start October 1st. I made my way up to Grayling Michigan. It's been raining since... I got one hunt in this evening and spooked a doe on my way in.  I built a nice little ground blind that I shared with a chipmunk but didn't see any deer while on stand.

I made a hammock to try out and am loving it. It may be my new go to camping style. As I type this I have a roaring campfire 15 feet away and am listening to the rain hit the tarp above me, and the thunder crack in the distance. Last night I was treated to the music of coyotes and owls. As Pappy would say, life is good.

I made it out Friday eve. Saw a redtail take down a grey squirrle on my road on the way in, thought, "that's a good sign".  MAde it to the stand about 2 hours before dark.  Saw one doe at about sixty yards, skeeters were bad and had me moving more than I wanted. Then a big, and I'm sayin big, maybe upwards to 60# coyote came in and had me in his mind, he checked me out a bit and left. I don't usually shoot yotes, but may have this one since he was so big.  Then a meadowlark came in and sat right next to me telling the whole woods I was there. Next morning had a redtail land about twenty yards from me w/ back turned watching the many squirrles on the ground, then a piliated woodpecker started pecking on the dead oak my tree stand is in and nearly gave me a back message with all the vibration from his pecking.  No deer that day.  I stalked for a bit in mid-morn, but still no deer in site.  I wore my Poppins mocs I got at the Classic and can say that I have never walked quieter in the woods, don't know how they are for scent control though.  It rained lastnight so I finished up some stone tipped arrows and went to bed.  I was up early this morn, but it was still raining and I went back to bed.  All fun All the same! That's that for my opening hunts, maybe next time. dp
