purple arrows

Here are some poke berry stained ,tonkin cane arrows I just made. Horn points and nocks.

Hey those are super,tips and noks are awsome. Don't care much for purple but, who cares, nice work.

Good lookin' arrows. What kind od horn are the points made from? I like 'em. Don't let Mechslasher see those purple arrows or he'll steal them.  :)

Thanks Steve , They are cow horn. I admit I copied a point I got from a kyudo supplier. The nocks are from horn nocks from 3 Rivers.
The arrows are for the aith over on pp, so I posted them there first.
   I think I like the horn points myself ,and a good use for horn tips.

   Good looking arrows.I never thought about using the tips for points,good idea.Like Steve said,hang onto them if Chris is around.

mullet, you and Hillbilly told me a year ago to use pokeberry for purple stain..got a bag of them in the freezer from Auggie...gonna have to use em now....Great arrows Ralph....Brian

Very nice arrows. Did the mottling of the berry dye happen on purpose or was that just how the cane took the stain. Either way it looks great.  Do beware of Cade with purple arrows! ;D  Pat

Pat ,it was on purpose .

   I put a clump of berries in one hand (wear a latex glove) just cut it off the plant, twigs and all.Then holding the shaft in the other hand , I close my fist full of berries around the shaft .Then twist the shaft back and forth as I push it through my fist.

Cool arrows,I stained a bow with poke berry's once and also some cedar shafts I love the color.
Them tips are sharp,any idea what the weight is on them? :)
