Boo/Maple/Osage, 140 @ 32 so far

Here is a Bamboo Maple Osage trilam pulling 140 ish at 32". Not much more to add, just thought I would share. Tiller's probably not perfect, but I am raising the white flag on it and calling it done.

Not unreasonable for 140#. Have you weighed it? If it comes in under 750 grams, it should be good.

According to my digital scale it weights 2.6 lbs, or 1179.34 grams.

Oooh. 1179 grams is heavy, but it is 140# and osage belly. Should be little or no set with those specs, being slightly overbuilt.

      I did a bow mass calculation and came up with between 1100 and 1200 grams, because of the semi stiff mid section and elyptical tiller I allwed for about 10" stiff handle. I love the tiller shape, I bet that bow has some good distance in it.

Ya it's a pretty heavy bow, 1 3/8" wide by 1 1/4" thick in center (mike gave me the suggestion on dimensions and they were spot on, so cudos). Thank you Steve, and thank you for doing the mass theory calculation, I still haven't taken the time and figured out how to do that yet, as embarrassing as that is to admit. :)

Hmmm. The mass theory is still a bit of a mystery to me as well. I'm just starting to realise its potential for performance.

I did a 120# maple backed yew warbow this summer. 78" ntn, 120#@32". It weighs 773 grams. Less than 1" of set. So, according to the mass theory, is it underbuilt? This bow's performance is amazing (not me shooting it). It has cast a 1/4# (114 gram) arrow 198 yards. Livery arrows (63 grams) 240 yards.
