I've made 2 Mullberry bows starting on 3rd   Can you get more poundage out of them if you leave one ring of sap wood?

Nice break! Fill the break with urac, restore to the unbroken position, clamp, glue on a handle section on the belly after step one cures to support the fix and make the handle nonbending. Proceed with finishing your bow, I have saved much worse.
