How knappable is Calcite?

It will knap, better though if it is heat treated. You see it a lot in Agatized Coral but never big enough to do a lot with it. I tried a small piece once to see if it would flake and it did. It is hard to find good stuff because of all of the layers. Calsite crystals are formed from repeated water flow, so it is layered. I would aste my time unless you have big pieces.

The location is about an hour from my front door. They call it Onyx Marble.
