An Elm shorty
« on: December 06, 2014, 09:01:42 pm »
So, I had this short and skinny piece of Elm left over from  the top of a sapling and decided to try and do something with it.
I ended up with this...
46" Ntn
50#@22"
4 3/4" brace height

Nice job. Kuddos for reminding the rest of us that it isn't always necessary to cut down a 30 foot, 12 inch thick hickory (or elm) tree in order to make a proficient weapon.

Sweet!
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

Very well done bow!
Work it down to 49lbs at 23" and you'll end up with a great candidate for a flight- record, if shot with a light arrow( about 200-250grs.). 49lbs at 23" will match the rules.

I' ve an elm- shortie( 44" in  length, 45lbs) shooting an 210grs. arrow at 224f/s.

Saplings rule! Michael
