Will this grip cause joint damage?

I have been using the grip in this photo.   I have spent a lot of time shooting over the weekend and now my fingers joints are really soar. I am using a 55# bow.  I think I just need a break and over did it.  But I am wondering if this grip is going to cause any long term damage?

If the pain persists you might have it checked out but unused muscles ache after hard use.

He is basicly doing a maybe, light thumb grip?

It looks like to me he is using his thumb joint with his Index finger overlapping like shooting with a Thumb Ring.
