I havent been able to make one I liked enough to ship yet.... I get 2/3 done and I see a flaw ( or create one ) then into the closet of shame it goes. I dont want to just make a bow, thats too easy, and I font want my guy to just have another bow. I want mine to stand out in performance and aesthetics.

Alright, I've been slacking a bit, only enough time for oggling all these beauties getting sent out  :o. With school mostly done for the summer I've been able to heat-treat the curves into plan A, which is now ready for the tillering string. I have plans B and C dried and roughed out, but I hope I don't need to use them, as this is too nice a piece of wood for me to screw up. Excited to get working on it!

I'm ready to put the final string on plan A but I'm going to wait until I get my new camera next week so I can record a Flemish Twist tutorial for reddit.

Next January/February I plan on taking this on again, might become a regular thing for me, so get to building and posting bows ;)

I like getting the new guys involved in stuff like this to get them to push themselves to do their absolute best but we all like to know that someone in a trade can hold their end :)

Plan A is done and ready to be sprayed, but I'm not entirely happy with it.  It is a 68" ttt Bamboo Backed Ipe with Osage and Jatoba Handle.

Starting Plan B this afternoon.  It will be a lower weight version of my "Moose Bow" http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,52233.msg710145.html#msg710145

I was thinking about the bow the other night and decided it would be nice to send my victim a bow made from some of our local wood.

Bamboo Backed Hornbeam

This particular piece of hornbeam was cut about 10 years ago.

Plan A is ready to shoot in and touch up the tiller. I'll probably being it to MoJam with me to get some more opinions before the finish goes on. Plan B was just heat treated with some reflex induced. Which is a black locust molle with a slight bendy handle. I'm going to recurve the levers  before applying a sinew. If there is time for the sinew to cure before the ship date. Do you think the sinew will have time to dry and tiller out by then?if not the sinew isn't really needed and I'll leave the levers straight.

Had a very productive weekend with my good friend sleek. He came up to my place and we both got a lot done on our trade bows. I got mine pulling 45 at 15 inches. But I got to do a little more work on the bottom limb. Hopefully I will have it shooting very soon. No more bow pictures for me. It will ruin the surprise! I will post it when it's all done. Patrick

So.... I worked through about four bows for the trade bow. Every time, I found a reason to not like the bow and set it aside. So, did some trading with lebhuntfish and I dont know why all the others didnt look good but this one did lol! Boy what a challenge.  Its one pat had started but got frustrated with also...
