My new glass bow.
« on: February 23, 2015, 01:24:24 pm »
So I know we don't like glass O:) but man I had to share my new score. Morrison 58" Dakota. Copper head skins under glass. Now we just need to melt some snow so I can shoot it  :'(

That's a fine weapon and Morrison bows are top shelf. For the record I love glass bows to. If it spits an arrow slow enough for me to admire in flight, I like it.

Yeah, Im starting to collect em. My retirement fund I told the wife  >:D I got rid of my 53 grizzly. But this thing is slick. So I'm not too heart broken. I got a crooked stick short bow (56")in a trade a little while ago. Something about the hybrids. I love em. I plan on making a bbo hybrid style hopefully this year

Nah... nothing wrong in my book with a F/G bow. I have a Chekmate Crusader take-down which is a work of art... antler tip overlays, a unique take-down system in the handle, and beautiful wood under clear glass. I also have a 50s vintage Bear static recurve which I totally admire. When I first started making bows, I made some R/D fiberglass bows. I don't anymore because I didn't enjoy the process, but they were fine bows. I still have the last one I made and will likely keep it.

Yah Bruce, why? Is it because we tend to have fun with the fiberglass word on this site for obvious reasons? Is that why Bruce? Or, is it because your a rude, young punk trying to piss off older gentleman? Id bet on the latter.

I don't hate.  Confession time - I have three fg bows hanging on the rack at home.   That one looks like a honey to me.

Nice looking bow.  I like em too!  In fact, I am just ready to put the finish on the second one I built.  Here is a pic of the first one I made last summer and the deer I shot with it in September.  The riser is made of osage that I cut down and planed out - the fg, well I had to buy that!

Enjoy the hunt!  Mitch

speaking of glass bows.. if you were to make a bow and back it with glass drywall tape, would you still consider that a primitive bow?
