I've got lots of this stuff especially the white stuff. It comes from small creeks in so. Ky. Seems to behave.btw I couldn't knock flakes like that off til Tracy gave me some tips at moontree..I'm gonna cook a batch and see what.happens

Don't have a clue. First thought was coral till I saw where you found it. I'd have to lean toward, I guarantee you that will knap.

I will likely be corrected here, but I believe that is creek cobble hornstone. It does not need heating. Good Find!
