Looks like a mighty fine arrow, I always liked river cane, to bad it can't be found round where I live in Florida.

If you wrap sinew under your nock cut you wont have to make a nock. I have done them in between nodes and still never spilt my cane even out of 67 lb bow... second if you are gonna add a wooden nock it must be lined up perfectly .....I love cane arrows....gut

473, if you live in j-ville, hop on I-10 and drive to White Springs. I just got back from there working and I cut a truck load everytime I go up there. It is all around the Stephen Foster State Park in Down town White Springs.

take the exit off of I-75 to White Springs and go to the intersection with SR 41. Go straight two blocks and look to your left, a whole, vacant lot full. I've been cutting it for 20 years and nobody has said anything to me, people just wave. :)

You couldn't cut enough to clean this place out. #Tip,, pull it over and cut the top out. ;)

I do exaptly what gut said.  I wrap sinew up to the nock.  On this arrow I made a cedar foreshaft for my broadhead.

Sleek, im pretty sure he means cut the top of the stalk as the bottom of the shoot is too thick and cutting it from there would be waste of time. I did this alot when there was a large Japonese arrow bamboo patch near my house(sadly it was buldozed a while back :( )

I always cut mine at the base.  Never have attempted the taller ones.  Gonna have to visit the Ol Cane patch and give that a try 👍
