Hickory bark syrup

I've only just joined today, but as coincidence would have it, I made a batch of Shagbark syrup just yesterday from a hickory I took for bow staves and billets for carving tool handles.
Celebrated with cheddar bacon cornmeal "Mancakes" and homemade venison breakfast sausage. 8)

I started making another batch today, realized I lost my recipe, but remembered I posted it here. So I pulled up the thread to help remember exactly what I did.... and just saw the cheddar bacon cornmeal mancakes.... that looks and sounds absolutely fabulous!
