Sad Times
« on: September 10, 2015, 02:27:12 pm »
My Mum passed away last night, she was 92 but bright as a button, had a pacemaker and was unsteady on her legs.
(We lost my Dad last November)
We suspect her body may not have coped with a load of wasp stings she got whilst gardening a few days earlier!
But she still joked... "it took me 5 minutes to walk up the garden, but with those wasps chasin' me I came back a damn sight quicker".
Whatever it was that sent her on her way it was relatively quick and the hospital made sure she was in no pain. (admitted at 4pm... passed at 10:10 pm)
I didn't get there in time to say goodbye but my brother and Sis told her I was on the way and we'd all see her in the morning... she passed in her sleep.
Our Mums are the unsung heroes, maybe they don't show us how to mend engines and make bows... but the heal our grazed knees and broken adolescent hearts, dust us off and set us back on our way. They grand-mother our kids, and they feed and soothe us all.
Spare a thought for all our Mums who bear the pain of the world unfinchingly  :'(
Hope she's found some peace...
Del

Sorry to hear the news Del. I'm glad she was able to live such a long life. Keep your chin up my friend.

Thanks everyone...
It will be the end of an era, the old family home will be sold :(... but I'm sure there will be a new family for it who will enjoy the Hampshire countryside...
Maybe even another kid who will discover the Yew that grows nearby :).
Life goes on.

Sorry to hear that bud. My condolences to you and your family. Sounds like a good lady and she lived a long life at 92. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for your loss, Del. My Mom passed a few years ago at 92. All 4 of her kids were with her for her last week but the morning she passed I had just gone out for a walk. Mom's know what they mean to their kids and you were in her heart when she went. She was fortunate not to have suffer long and apparently kept her wit until the end.
You and your family are in my thoughts.

My heart goes out to you and Mrs the Cat.  If there is anything I can do, just send me a shout.

I'm very sorry, Del. When my Mother passed my sister, brothers and nieces and nephews were there. I had gone home for a few things because everything was stable and got the call when I was at the house. Remember the good things, my friend.
