Here are a few scraps of Flint River that I heat treated
with my jasper. The heat really makes the chert much
better to knap and gives it a lustrous sheen.

Those look good. I am also a copper knapper, but I am considering diversifying to antler, bone and stone, not because that is the right way, but because it will widen my skill at knapping.

I like it! Keep on knapping. We knap for different reasons today than hundreds or thousands of years ago. And all modern reasons are valid.

The why effects the how and the how affects the why. And the person who decides what, is neither you nor I.
