Proudly knapped with copper only
Zuma:
Yes it is a shame. I have been talking to him on PM alot
trying to figure a way to make everything work without the
agitation. I thought he was cool with it all. He is a talented
very nice guy, going out of his way to educate.
I don't think speculating is a good way for us all to handle this.
Getting the true reasons can only be done by getting the scoop
from Iowa. Next best would be ask the mods.
Perhaps starting a thread asking for the info would be a better idea??
What do you all think? Thanks Zuma
Spotted Dog:
I am just now getting into knapping. I wanted to learn abo. Just got into reading Iowa's stuff.
Was going to read more today cause it's raining. Guess I slept to long. Abo or copper don't
matter to me. It's flint knapping .

Now this really sucks to me. Even his comments on my little thread is gone.
I am not going to give up on how ever I learn to knap but I am disapPOINTed

I am sad to hear about members getting upset to the point of leaving. Something we all should remember is that even when communicating face to face we can misinterpret another person, it's much worse using nothing but written words on the internet. People depend a great deal on body language and tonal expressions to be able to tell what another is trying to say
P.S. Everything that gets deleted goes into a special forum accessible to mods and admins

Then how does a non-mod user go about deleting a thread? I don't see that option on my threads on any of the forums I frequent as a normal user. Now the ones I am a moderator on, this is a piece of cake. Is he a mod?
But you're correct about the high-jacking. Threads get high-jacked. It's a part of life. The choice to remove something that others have invested time into should be a group decision. I don't know about the rest of you guys, however, time is something I don't seem to have a lot of.
If one chooses to not share his or her information on a thread they created, they should just edit their posts in said thread to read "deleted by me".
Also, my apologies for this thread high-jack. Once we're done discussing, I'll delete my posts regarding this matter from here.

yep. this is how the forums usually work. it allows the 'mods' to see what has been deleted and for what reasons.
