Matt Wirwiki  was laying  down a layer of sinew on his , I am sure he will post again when he gets home from the Kalamazoo Traditional Archery Expo

What are you guys doing about strings?  I'd like to make a double Flemish loop but my string jig only goes down to 48 inches.  I can certainly just do a Bowyer's knot on one end, which is easy enough. 

Also, how many strands are you guys using.  I have both FF and B-50 to use, but I've never built a string for a 30 pound bow out of FF.  It seems it would be an exceptionally fine gauge string.  Even double serving it will barely fill a typical nock width.  :-\  :-\  :-\

Pad the arrow nock area onbowdude. Add extra strands into the twist only in that one spot. Works for the bow nock also. Its something Patrick showed me so dont worry, its safe :D

Am using B55. Two each 3-ply bundles. Bowyers knot one end. Padded each end w/ 4 additional strands. Didn't think to pad arrow nocking area, but am doing self nocks so can fit nocks to served diameter.

I doubled the length plus 3" so i set the jig up for 51" and did 5 strands doubled it over and cut it, gave me two 5 strand bundles and made a double loop string

Too cold outside and too much under the weather in my head. So spent the afternoon in basement craft shop shaping self nocks for mini bow arrows.



These shafts were weeds growing along a path that we hiked last fall. Don't know what they are, but they're light! These may be my "flight" arrows for the cross pond shootin'.
