That bow looks fantastic Scott. If the belly and back grain looks as good as it does on the sides I'd vote for naked backing and just slip a pair on limbs covers on hunting days.

My snaky osage project blew into 3 or 4 pieces last night, quite violently . Im looking at a few other options now.

Snake bows are a bear, sometimes. The tiller was very close and I was only out to 24-25". Sheet happens!

I had a feeling on this one. I don't break many bows anymore that surprise me. Most have a skeptical area or two that you watch the whole time, just waiting. This one was that. I had a friend over to work on his first bow the last few nights. I saved the explosion for him to witness :)

DEPENDS are the scetchy wood bowyer's friend!  Those, safety goggles, and hard hats should be recommended industry best practices!
