Jeffp51, the knot looks great man! Just remember to smooth out the edges of the knot just like the edges of your bow. Also it dosent hurt to leave that spot a little stiffer when you tiller it.

jeffp ..... that's a lovely knot!

Hey fellas,
Sorry for my apparent lack of participation the last week and a half. Just now cvoming down from a fairly bad abscessed situation....anyway back to where I can think about something besides cryin in my beer >:D
I have finished the heavy Iroquoian bow for my victim so thought I would post some teaser pics without giving anything away. This is ironwood, and draws way north of 50# (I forget how much exactly >:D) This bow has elements of Onida, Iroquois, and Mohawk combined into what I hope is a pleasing Eastern Woodland hunting bow.....we will see.
    Any and all comments welcomed.

Aw man that's a nice bow Rich! I really like the native inspired bows. Is that raw hide string?

Looks great Rich. Looks like you're back on track. Is that hickory?

Fred I like the start of your 2 bows

Loope I'm with Fred. I think a caul would help out on tillering later on.

Jeffp51 nice pep sight.

Rich man how many bows have you put out in February alone. Is that handle grip braided fish line that you painted. Looks good

Ok the BL is now at 22". the back ground on my tree is getting painted black this weekend to help with the pics and the lighting should be no more shadowing after that. Then bends are bad close by measuring and straight edging.

Went out to glue some rawhide on one of my trade bows and I guess my glue is bad. It never set up.  Luckily I have more rawhide. Will have to get some more tb. I bought some gorilla glue but not sure about it.  We've been battling flu in our household so not much has been done.  Wednesday I will be putting sinew on the cedar sapwood bow.

Gut....Looks like there might be a hint of a flat spot a couple inches out from the left fade running 10" or so.  Other then that it looks great.  Got a pic of the unbraced profile?

Mr. Andersson, that string is artificial sinew.....dont have any decent raw-hide left after all the Penobscot bows.
