Package shenanigans!  I say that they're loaded with snakeskins, with the snakes still attached.  And slithering.

Will do on knocking off some of the excess wood.

Ranasp that is coming along nicely. You're getting to the point where you'll be seeing a bow here soon. Just take your time and ask questions. Lot's of good help here.

I literally hit pay-dirt today. I have a feedlot 1 mile North of me and was needing some fill dirt and compost to level some of the ground around my property and fill in some of my garden area. Here's what they brought me just after lunch. 2 15 ton dump truck loads and one more on the way.

Cost was suppose to be between $2 to $4 / ton. They said I owed $0 and asked if I wanted more.

And I was getting ready to visit the farm store to purchase 40# bags.

;D They were 10 yd loads and they delivered 4 today.  >:D I'm almost as excited about this as I am the bow trade. This should make for an excellent Spring opportunity to finally get my yard in order and expand my garden.

I've been canning venison and veggies from the garden for the past 6 years. I'm really looking forward to becoming more independent for survival by doing it myself.

Also expanding to chickens this year for meat and eggs. I always try to keep a couple jars of fresh pickled eggs in the fridge.

Next Spring possibly a couple Llamas or goats to keep the over growth down.

I've been without indoor plumbing going on 7 years and finished most of the plumbing last year. The boys and I are planning on washing down a well early May. Already have the pressure tank and pump.

Thinking of setting up a little archery range on this little acreage in the future.

If I live long enough to see it this place just may come around.

Mitch, not much luxury around this place compared to what a lot have though I would never trade it for a nice place in town.

It truly is primitive compared to most lifestyles. Hope you get a chance to swing by and do a little roving or hunting one of these days.

Fred, happy to see your dream yard and garden coming together. Traveled on a houseboat I built, for a couple years with tanks and a hand pump. And we went without running water for the first year here after I built the house, on land, too. We pipe our water from a spring I dug out. Slowly but surely things come together, Fred. It'll seem like a miracle to turn on a tap when it happens!

re. building:

Plan C bow is what I'll be finishing up now, and it's the one I'm sending out. Shoots straight and hits hard, and the bow just feels solid. Black birch, 67" ttt, 51# @28. 30" arrow in the photo, and I'm clearly not full drawing it even 28". Best I can do. At my draw in the pic (guessing 26" and maybe 45#) it was shooting 157-166 fps average with 400 grain arrow. Photo on stump is just unstrung profile. It's not taking any obvious set after shooting.

Plan B looks good. I like that pic of the shot. It shows what the string is doing when it releases the arrow. Cool pic. Unreal how much slack it has.
